Walking the bridges between Sweden, Santiago and Aragón

Our relationship with Spain has grown through walking, friendship, history and the simple joy of meeting people along the way.

Since 2019, Bbeabridge has organised journeys where members walk together, discovering new places while also creating deeper connections with one another. For us, walking is more than travelling from one place to another. It is a way of slowing down, listening, sharing stories and discovering what connects us.

A historical bridge to Santiago de Compostela

In 2022, we began exploring and sharing one of the historical bridges between Sweden and Santiago de Compostela through the story of our Swedish saint, Saint Birgitta of Sweden.

Saint Birgitta travelled extensively in Europe and became an important historical connection between Scandinavia and the spiritual and cultural world of Santiago de Compostela.

That same year, we decided to document the journey in a more professional way. Together with a professional filmmaker, we filmed parts of the route and began creating a collection of stories, images and films that could inspire others to discover the Camino and its history.

For Bbeabridge, this became another way of building bridges — between Sweden and Spain, between past and present, and between people who may never otherwise have met.

Discovering Aragón

In 2023, our connection with Aragón developed into something new.

We began creating events and retreats together with people in Aragón, starting with the village of Muel, just outside Zaragoza.

Muel gave us the opportunity to experience another side of Spain — away from the busiest tourist destinations. Here we found beautiful landscapes, local traditions, history, art, food and people who were interested in creating meaningful encounters.

The following year, our journey continued through a collaboration with Open Doors Aragón in Paracuellos de Rivera, closer to Teruel.

These experiences strengthened our belief that Aragón has something very special to offer.

A different kind of journey

We believe Aragón is especially interesting for people who are looking for a slower, more personal and nature-based experience of Spain.

The region is less explored than many of Spain’s major tourist destinations, yet it offers an extraordinary combination of:

You can walk through the landscape in the morning, share a local meal during the day, discover a historic place in the afternoon and sit together in the evening talking about life, creativity, values and the things that really matter.

Our retreats

Over the years, Bbeabridge has developed different kinds of retreats and walking experiences, bringing together several elements that we believe belong naturally together:

Our retreats are not only about visiting a destination. They are about experiencing it.

A meal can become a conversation.

A walk can become a reflection.

A historic place can open a story.

A painting, photograph or piece of music can create a new perspective.

And a group of people who meet on a journey can sometimes become friends for many years.

This is the spirit we want to continue developing in Aragón.
