Pellegrino di Pace – A Pilgrim of Peace
The “Pellegrino di Pace” – “Pilgrim of Peace” is an international recognition connected to Assisi, Italy, a city with a long and powerful tradition of peace, dialogue and encounters between people from different cultures and faiths.
The recognition has been presented since 1988 by the Centro Internazionale per la Pace fra i Popoli di Assisi – International Centre for Peace among Peoples. The initiative was created with the vision of making Assisi an international meeting place for peace, dialogue and cooperation between peoples.
Over the years, the recognition has been associated with people and initiatives that have contributed to peace, human dignity, dialogue and understanding across borders.
Among those previously recognised are
Mother Teresa,
Mikhail Gorbachev,
Kofi Annan,
Pope John Paul II,
Patch Adams and Javier Zanetti, as well as other individuals and groups working for peace and human connection.
In 2026, the recognition was announced for Kôô Okada, spiritual leader of Sukyo Mahikari, in recognition of his work and commitment to international dialogue and peace.
Peace through practice
The Pellegrino di Pace is also represented through an artistic sculpture, symbolising the journey of humanity towards peace.
Assisi – A Place for Peace
For centuries, Assisi has been a place where people have gathered to reflect on peace, spirituality, dialogue and the relationship between humanity and the world around us.
For Bbeabridge, this spirit is deeply meaningful.
We believe that peace does not begin only between nations. Peace begins with each person, in our relationships, our families, our communities and in the way we meet one another.
A bridge can begin with something very simple: listening, respecting another person’s story and creating a space where different voices can be heard.
This is the spirit behind our words:
Be a Bridge.
A bridge between people.
A bridge between generations.
A bridge between cultures.
A bridge between communities.
A bridge between ideas.
A bridge towards peace.
Bbeabridge wants to contribute to a growing international network of people, organisations, artists, associations, universities and communities who believe that peace can be created through human connection, dialogue, creativity and cooperation.
Peace • Innovation • Joy
Our vision is to create more opportunities for people to meet, listen, learn from one another and build something together.
Because every person can become a bridge.
Be a Bridge to the Next Person.
